Praying the Bible Promises Project
The purpose of the Sisters in Christ International (SICI) “Praying the Bible Promises Project” is to use the promises we find in Scripture as we read through the Bible and learn to use them as our prayers. SICI will post the Bible promises and prayers provided in our weekly Bible study here. In 2 Corinthians 1:20, God declares that ALL of His promises are given to those who are in Christ Jesus.
When we pray God’s promises, we are speaking God’s own words over us.
We encourage you to speak God’s promises in prayer form out loud and meditate upon them. In Jeremiah 1:12, God says, “for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.” This verse is interpreted to mean that God uses His Word (promises in Scripture) to accomplish His will in our lives. We will be highlighting God’s promises and reciting a prayer based on the promises of God.

1 Thessalonians 2:12-13 NLT
We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory. Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for calling us to share in your Kingdom and Glory. Please help us to live our lives in a way that you would consider worthy. Thank you for giving us the powerful living word of God. As we receive and believe it, our lives are truly changed to reflect your glory. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 NLT
So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Lord God, Thank you for your divine calling on our lives. You have given us the assurance that as we receive and believe in you and your word, we will be truly transformed and empowered by your Holy Spirit to walk worthy of your calling. 1 Timothy 1:14-16 NLT
Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus. This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.

Generous and Gracious Lord, Thank you for filling me with the faith and love that comes from Christ Jesus. I am so grateful for your overflowing Grace that you give to such an undeserving sinner like me. Thank you that Jesus Christ came to save sinners like me and Paul. Father God, thank you for the spiritual gifts that you have placed in me. Help me when I lean into fear and timidity. Empower me to rekindle the fire to serve you with my spiritual gifts and talents without fear and timidity, just as Paul encouraged Timothy to do. Remind me daily that you have not given me a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, love and self discipline. Lord, please fill me with your spirit and help me to trust you completely and to confidently serve you. Please show me opportunities to share Jesus . Mighty God, Thank you for revealing your Grace in giving us the greatest gift of Christ Jesus. Our hearts are so full of gratitude for this Grace that brings salvation to all people that will believe and receive. Please give us your strength and wisdom to turn from our godless living and sinful pleasures. Thank you for teaching us to live in this present evil world with wisdom, self discipline, righteousness and true devotion to you. Lord, please help us to keep our hearts focused on the blessed hope of the glorious return of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever. Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.

Lord Jesus my Savior, Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice. You came as the High Priest of all the good things that have now come. You entered the greater and more perfect Tabernacle in Heaven, not made by human hands and not part of this created world. Thank you Jesus that you did not rely on the temporary blood of goats or calves but entered the Most Holy Place once and for all time with your own Blood securing my redemption forever. Your Blood did so much more than outward cleansing. By the power of the eternal spirit, you became the perfect sacrifice for my sins. Please purify my conscience from sinful deeds and dead works. Cleanse my heart so I may truly worship and serve you, the living God. Thank you for making a New Covenant and dying as a ransom to set me free from the penalty of my sins. For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet. And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says, “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Lord God, Thank you for your precious gift of Jesus Christ and that by your will, I have been made holy through this incredible sacrifice once for all time. I am so thankful that I do not have to live under guilt or make repeated sacrifices. I can come to you boldly because of the Blood of Jesus Christ. Thank you for making a new way for me to enter your presence. Father, I come to pyou with a sincere heart, trusting in your grace and in the finished work of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord that you have sprinkled my guilty conscience with the Blood of Christ to make me clean. You have washed me with your pure water to help me live in the freedom of your forgiveness. Please show me that as a believer it is not my burden to bear alone but an opportunity to test my faith in you and allow my endurance to grow. Help me to ask for your divine wisdom to guide me through any troubles and trust you to give it to me just as you have promised in your word. Please forgive me Lord for any doubt or wavering in my heart. Help me to completely trust in you in all circumstances. Dear Jesus, I do not want to pretend that just because I am a believer at times I do not have evil behavior in me. Please help me to get rid of all evil behavior in me like deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Help me to grow into a full experience of my Salvation. I am crying out for your nourishment because you want me to be a living stone in your spiritual temple and you have called us to be holy priests, meditating on your Word offering spiritual sacrifices that pleases you. You are permitting that woman, that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet, to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols. Prayer Based on the above Scriptures
Dear Lord Jesus, please help us to listen to the message contained in these Scriptures and examine our hearts and actions. Take heed of what Jesus is asking us to obey for He said, the time is near. There is so much for us to take heed even today from what You said to each ancient church that once existed. We know Your Word never expires and is inspired by You and is useful to teach us what is tru. Help make us to realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
So Lord, I ask You to please help us to listen and obey with no delay! Lord, I want to be blessed watching for You as those who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed. As I watch and wait, I know Lord it is You who goes to war and defeats my enemy for You alone are the Lord of Lords and King of Kings! While I am waiting for You I will constantly run away from Jezbel, the one who takes part in sin, so that I will not be punished with her. When that day comes when the books are open; and the Book of life is open; my righteous and holy deeds will be rewarded; and I will be granted eternal life; for through Salvation in Jesus Christ my name is written in the Book of life.
Thank you Lord for assuring us that You are coming soon and that we shall be blessed by obeying the Words written in this Book. Thank you God for helping us finish reading the Old Testament. In this month of October, we will be begin reading the New Testament. We will read the four Gospels this month. On page 1140 of The Daily Walk Bible, in the Reflection & Worship page, a poet attempted to explain the relationship between the Old and The New Testament. He states “The Old is in the New revealed, the New is in the Old concealed.” The entire Bible, the Old Testament and New Testament is ALL about Jesus, the Son of God. Because of God’s great love for all people, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to bear the cost of all sins for all humanity. His sacrificial death on the cross was the remittance for our sins. Jesus defeated sin and death by rising from the dead and as He said in the Scriptures, anyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
This was God’s plan of rescue for humanity. We see it recorded and executed in the Old Testament and the New Testament for all of us to benefit by knowing and believing that Jesus is indeed the Son of God, who paid the price for our sins. We can prayerfully ask Him to forgive our sins and be the Lord and Savior of our life. When you do this you become a child of God and a believer of the only True and Living God – the God of the Bible. You now have a new life and when you continue to read the Word of God you will continually be transformed to be more like Jesus, day by day. We at Sisters in Christ International read and study the Bible together each year and benefit from this transformation process by the Power of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.
This month in place of writing prayers based on Scripture, we will draw our attention to the Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Jesus as recorded in the four Gospels of the New Testament.

In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.

Dear Father God, as we finish reading and studying through Your Word in Deuteronomy, I see how much You love me, care for me and want me to do well in my life. It is evident in all the instructions you give us, for they are for our good. I love You with a reverential fear my Father and want to obey Your instructions. I will serve You with all my heart and mind. You have promised to be with me; fight my battles; and give me victory. As You have promised to personally go with me, I know Lord that when I wake up and face each day, doing the things I need to do, You are always with me. I am aware that in this life I will face battles of many kinds. I am so very thankful and grateful to you Lord that as I live my life here on earth, You have promised and assured me to not be fearful, lose heart, tremble or panic because you go with me personally, fight my battles not failing me and abandoning me. Thank you Father God; as you have promised I can face tomorrow with courage and strength knowing that You are with me always. Please help me Father to live in a way that is pleasing to You and love You with all my heart more and more each day by studying and obeying Your instructions, so that I can live a victorious life in You. I raise my soul to You alone as an altar and name it “Yahweh Shalom”.
