“It was I who rescued you from Egypt and led you through the desert for forty years, so you could possess the land of the Amorite.”
Reading this verse today made me reflect on what did God rescue me from, to lead me through, so that I could have something that He wanted me to have. Have you ever thought of that? God spoke to Amos to tell the Israelites that He was one that rescued them from Egypt, led them through the desert for forty years so they could possess the land of the Amorites. If you think God isn’t in every detail of your life and doesn’t love you more than anything in this world, then read this verse again. This is a good time to reflect on what you’ve been rescued from, for Him to lead you through, so that you could have ___________. I know, that I know, that I know what He rescued me from! But once I was rescued, I had to go through the wilderness to seek Him wholeheartedly and be pruned, so that He could show me what purpose He had for my life. I ask you today to sit with your Rescuer (Your Savior) and thank Him for rescuing you, taking through (whatever it is), so that He can give you whatever He has for you.
