The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.”
Psalm 32:8
New Year – Same God
Do you believe our Lord watches over you? If not, I’d like you to read today’s verse image and put your name in front of it. Then, say it out loud and hear God saying it to you (something changes in the way we think in our mind and feel in our heart when we read the truth of God’s Word).
The NIV says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” How does God’s “loving eye” sound to you? When someone has eyes full of love towards you, it’s easier to trust them and want their counsel. We see through the Psalms, this is what David knew to the very core of his being. He knew God on such a personal, intimate level that he trusted the Lord would guide him, advise him and watch over him with His loving eye on him. There’s just something that is so peaceful to my own heart letting this sink in today. The harder the world pressed into David, the further David pressed into the Lord to learn His truth and promises.
The next book after Psalms is Proverbs (written by Solomon, David’s son). Listen to the verse that I feel parallels with our verse today, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.” Proverbs 3:5-6 GNT I don’t know how David was as a Dad, but Solomon knew how he was as a follower of God who loved and trusted Him with his whole heart.
Whatever you’re believing God for right now, I ask you to surrender it to Him. Let Him be your guide, your adviser and the overseer of your life. He asks us to trust Him with our whole heart. When we do this, we can rest knowing His loving eye is on us and He has the best pathway for our life. https://youtu.be/qfN0CV_FdoE
It’s a new year, but He’s the Same God of David and of you.
