Praise the Lord; praise God our savior!
For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude
New Year – Same God
Happy Tuesday! Today is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! You may be having a day where you’re thinking, “Good for you. You have no idea what my morning has been like or what I’ve gone through this week already.” You’re right. I have no idea. This is what I do know, we can “Praise the Lord! For each day He carries us in His arms.”
As a songwriter, I don’t think it’s by happenstance that this is the last verse before an Interlude or Selah (pause). It seems to me, David was purposeful in putting this verse before the Interlude to show us this promise and truth of God. As we sit in the pause before the next verse starts, we have time to reflect on God carrying us in His arms.
After the next Interlude in verse 32 He sings, “Sing to the one who rides across the ancient heavens, his mighty voice thundering from the sky.” Psalms 68:33 NLT We see David understanding the magnitude of God, but God’s tenderness to carry David in His arms each day. Reading through the Psalms of David, he was in the desert, in the lonely places, being chased by his enemies and even his own son. David’s response, “Praise the Lord!”
Let’s sit in the pause today and “Praise the Lord!” He is the Creator of the universe and each day carries you in His arms.
It’s a new year, but He’s the Same God of David and of you.
