Seek and deeply long for the Lord and His strength [His power, His might];
Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually.
New Year – Same God
Have you ever been in a situation where you feel the Lord tugging on you saying, “Come away with me. Soak in me, not what’s trying to fill your heart and head. Turn your eyes to me.” Well, that’s where I was yesterday.
I knew He was telling me to sit with Him, spend time with Him and seek His presence continually. Something changes when we choose to do this. Seeking is an action and we have to be the ones to choose to do it. Talking is an action too and that’s usually what’s easier to do than seeking the Lord. The first definition of seeking is an attempt to find something. I can honestly tell you, I’ve never had a time in my life when seeking God left me empty. Every time I seek Him, I’m filled with more of Him, less of me and whatever I’m struggling with. His presence overwhelms me and His peace that passes all understanding washes over me.
A dear friend of mine gave me the daily Jesus Calling. Today’s reading says “You can find Me in each moment, when we have eyes that see and ears that hear.” (Jeremiah 29:13) Here is the scripture for Jeremiah 29:13, “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
I encourage you to listen to this song “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” by Sovereign Grace Music (it was part of the worship in Brave Jax this weekend). The Lord’s promise to you is when you seek Him wholeheartedly, deeply long for Him, His face and His continual presence, you will find Him. Click this link: Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
It’s a new year, but He’s the Same God of David and of you.
