Thankful for Jesus – Jesus Gives Us Spiritual Clothing
It’s a bit colder than normal out today and I’m already thinking about what should I wear. But reading this verse changes what I want to clothe myself with. Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ! Mic drop! To me this says, “Clothe yourself with the fruit of the Spirit. Clothe yourself with the mind of Christ. Clothe yourself with Jesus clothing so people will want to know where you got that outfit!” We no longer walk around in grave clothes, because WE’VE BEEN MADE ALIVE IN CHRIST! Put on your full armor of God today! When you clothe yourself first with Jesus and His spiritual clothing, you’re dressed in clothing that wil never rip, tear or fade. The rest of this verse says, “And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.” Basically I think it’s saying, “Don’t put on the grave clothes that kept you in the darkness with the mind of the world.” Whatever you’re doing on a daily basis, make it a routine to first clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Since we’re hidden in Him (Colossians 3:3), we get to wear Jesus’s clothing.
