“Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Personally, I know to do all these things I need the strength of our Lord; the hardest one for me is verse 14, “Do everything in love.” Verse 14 just sticks out to me like a sore thumb and I believe the Holy Spirit is highlighting it to me (because I struggle with this one). It’s easy for me to do something for someone who is lovely and who loves me, but to do everything in love for the one who is unlovely is harder for me…and this is where Jesus is Love comes in! When I choose to take my eyes off of the unlovely person and put them on Jesus, He gives me supernatural strength to love that person. How about you? Have you had a similar experience? Especially with the holidays right around the corner, I really want to focus on asking Jesus to show me with His eyes how to love the difficult people in my life. I know it’s not easy, but I also have committed this verse to memory, “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 Sitting here just thanking Jesus that He is love. Because He is love and we are His, we can do everything in love.
Have a blessed day!
