Look around at the nations; look around and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day,
something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.
If you’ve read any of my devotions, you’ve heard me say, “We’re all waiting for something.” Habakkuk had to put the Lord back in His rightful place in his life after the Lord told him what would happen to Judah. His response helps us see what to do while in the waiting:
• Take our post.
• Position ourselves on the fortress.
• Keep watch to see what the Lord says and how He will respond to what we’ve asked for or agonized over in our waiting.
He is in the waiting; we must position ourselves to continue to trust Him in it. Habakkuk positioned himself to keep watch to see what the Lord said to him (his eyes were fixed on the Lord, and his ears were open to hear whatever the Lord said to him). Whatever you’re waiting for, position yourself to keep watch to hear from the Lord. It may be a quick answer, like what happened for Habakkuk, or it may take time for Him to give you an answer. Know this dearly loved one – He’s in your waiting, and you can trust that He will answer you in His timing.
